We took the dogs for a walk up on the hills yesterday and watched this lamb being born in the field next to the track we were walking on. We actually saw the ewe lying down with the lambs head already coming out then she stood up and the lamb fell to the ground. We didn't want to get too close and distress her so these photos are not great as I don't have a fancy camera. The ewe licked the new born clean and within 10 mins the lamb was on its feet - although it was very wobbly and soon sat down again.
The wall between us and the sheep was quite high and the dogs couldn't see what was going on so we didn't disturb mum and her new baby.
It's a great view from up here, this track runs between the 3 Peaks. Unfortunately it was quite cloudy so on camera it doesn't look great.
There is still alot of snow lying about in places.
Saluki toes are very furry ! And get VERY DIRTY !
It's a long way back down that track !
The view from the bottom, this is Ingleborough one of the 3 Peaks.
